My son is now 2. He has been watching baby signing time since he was 3 months old. He signs all of the words in the series. We began using flashcards with him and learned that he already knew many words from baby signing time because they flash them on the screen. So, before "teaching" him the word go, he signed it immediately when he saw the card and yelled "go" very excitedly. Santa brought him series one of signing time and he is now learning the preschool signs. Leah is his favorite and at the end of the shows he always asks "mommy, where Leah go?"
I bought this as a gift because my daughter is in LOVE with her baby signing time videos. She asks to watch them by rigorously signing baby - which is about the cutest thing ever!!! She is 16 months now and has no interest in any other television program. I think she loves her baby signing time videos because they are fun, colorful and she gets to learn something. She gets soooo excited when she looks at something and can identify it with a sign! These videos are well done and I can really see them impact her confidence and love of learning. The first time she stopped herself mid crying fit and looked up and signed 'milk' with a big smile, I about fell over! Also, the songs are cute and they don't drive me crazy like so much kids music does. This particular bundle is a good deal and the CD is great for the car.
We LOVE these videos--so much so, in fact, that we've now bought many of the regular "Signing Times." We are not heavy TV watchers, but our 18 month old son is communicating extremely well, and much of this we credit to these videos--and our active involvement as a family in learning them. His older siblings, who are ten and eight, love learning the sign language almost as much as our 18 month old loves learning to "talk" with his hands! I'm certain that his remarkable advances in verbalizing have much to do with learning the words' sign forms.
We have many of these dvd's and received them as gifts for our first son. He is now three and still enjoys watching them with our second son who is 16 months old. As a matter of fact, their first signs were at 10 months old and both are quite the big talkers. I credit signing to them as infants and these dvd's really helped to encourage communication. The price is a bit ridiculous though. If I were not sending as a gift, and crunched for time, I would have shopped around for a more reasonable price.
Started this with my daughter when she was 13 months old and by the time she was 18 months, she knew around 50 signs PLUS many more words! This bundle is only the beginning! Her spoken vocabulary grew by leaps & bounds compared to her playmates, and I attribute that to starting with Baby Signing Time! At age 4, we still do signs for fun!
One of my sons first signs was "signing time", lol. I don't have him in front of the TV very often, but with when I need to get dishes, etc done, he loves to watch these. I do not even mind hearing them, or watching them. Very cute kids, I think my son enjoys seeing the real people.
