My 4 children absolutely ADORE Signing Time. I use it with my daycare children, too. My 4 year old walks around asking me, "Mommy, what does THIS mean?!" and makes all sorts of animal signs. The daycare parents are very impressed with how fast their children have picked up signing, and talk about how their children sing the engaging songs all day long at home. I personally recommend Signing Time to everyone I talk to!
We love all the Signing Time videos, but Leah's Farm is our very favorite because the songs are so great! My daughter wants me to sing "Leah's Farm" all the time, especially if we are in the car. She just sits in the back and starts signing FARM! The "Turtle Rock" song is also a big hit - she will sign ROCK when she want me to sing that one for her! My daughter learned almost all of the animal signs on this video by around 18 months!
My two boys are 20 and 14, but I saw Leah's Farm on Public TV and fell in love with the "Turtle Rock" song. I just had to buy this DVD for my one year old nephew and hope to watch it with him often!
I absolutely love this volume I love the song leahs farm truly a wonderful way to teach your child sign language
My 2 year old twin grandchildren live with us and they love Signing Time! They love Leah's Farm and we have to listen to Turtle Rock at least twice at the end!
It's fun to be able to read animal books to my hearing in-home daycare group and watch them sign all the different animals they've learned. Keep up the good work, we love you!
I borrowed the first three volumes of signing time from my public library. My daughter was about 9 months old at the time and loved it. I had already taught her "more", and "milk" but once she saw the DVD's her vocabulary exploded. My mother, her grandmother bought the first six volumes with the cd's for the car, and WOW, she began signing and talking like crazy. Now she is two and speaks better than any two year old I know. I credit Signing Time with allowing her a way to express herself early on, and am now getting volumes 7 through 13 so that she can continue learning a second language. As a teacher, I have always used some simple signs with my kindergartner's, like "sit" and know that if all children learned ASL, everyone in the world could communicate! What a wonderful thing you are doing for the children of the world! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! DIane Frame
