I purchased this set for my 18 month old son 1 month ago. So far he hasn't given advance warning of his need to use the potty, but that's ok because he LOVES the music. So much so that he screams "body" whenever we are in the car so we will play the CD, including the awesome "my body is amazing" song. When your toddler loves Potty Time as much as mine you too will be singing "potty, potty; wipe, wipe.." to your work colleagues!
Adelaide (almost 3) has been interested in using the potty for a while. She has an older sister, Cait, and wants to be just like her. We love ALL the Signing Time DVDs, and both of our girls have been signing since they were under a year old... before they were talking. Adelaide was delayed in speech, but not in communication, thanks to Alex, Leah, and Rachel. So, it has worked out perfectly that there is a Potty Time DVD too! I really wasn't ready to start working on potty training, but Adelaide is more than ready. We purchased the Potty Time watch, too. And, I have to say... she loves it. There's just something about wearing a cute little toilet on your wrist, I guess. The music is cute, and the timer options are very helpful. So, we love the Potty Time video. When it came in the mail, we had a family "viewing party" complete with popcorn! The cartoon Alex, Leah, and Hopkins are colorful and cute, the songs are catchy and easy to learn, and the kids and families are beautiful! I love how the DVD covers what could be a "delicate" topic to some folks with honesty and matter-of-factness. Our bodies ARE amazing, and bladder and bowel control is a learned skill that often takes practice, practice, and more practice. Adelaide has been doing well at listening to her watch (and her body) and going to the bathroom when it is time. She has had some accidents, but then, that just gives her an excuse to sing "Uh-oh, it's an accident!" We just get cleaned up and move on. Another high quality product from Signing Time. Thanks!
This was an awesome start up for our little guy to learn to go potty. He thought it was cool to have a watch!
Best purchase I ever made! This video is what helped us turn the corner to finally being 100% interested in potty training. No more diapers at 23 mnths
Our daughter can't get enough of it! Plus she went pee in the potty for the first time today!
I have been potty training my 2 year old son for a few weeks and got him Potty Time for Christmas since we love Baby Signing Time. The first time we watched it he turned to me and signed potty! I love how easily he picks the signs up! Thank you for this video! He asks to watch it every day!
We have been practicing EC (Elimination Communication) with our daughter since she was 3 months old signing & potting has always been a part of our day .We loved Baby Signing time & watched it almost daily. At 15 months, after watching Potty Time she was finally signing potty, and using her little potty all by herself. We are telling all our friends about this program, It is amazing amazing no matter what potty training your using with your child. Thank you Rachel this is just what we needed to move on the the next stages of potting
The thing I like the most about Potty Time is it makes it exciting for the kids, like even my 2-year-old, and my 3-year-old, and my 9- and 11-year old watch it with my kids and they all have fun and they’re all signing! It actually gets my older kids into it to help the younger kids with it too, so it’s a big help. And it’s not just signs about potty, it’s signs about everyday life and they’re running around, and the music is great and they just really like it.
My 2 1/2 year old daughter's favorite song right now is "My Body is Amazing." It's hilarious to watch her sing it while she tries out all the gymnastic moves she's seen from the kids on Potty Time. Thank you so much for creating such a great song with such a wonderfully positive message!
Bought it for my daughter when it first came out and gave it to her buddy for Christmas -- he LOVES it!! But they have different fav songs - it's cute!
Potty time is brilliant I owe a huge thank you to it I have been training my special needs son for three and a half years once I got this three weeks ago he started using the toilet and is now going well with little accidents he knows all the words and signs to the song as do I thanks so much potty time
I got my daughter the app a few days ago and she is in love! Can't wait to show her these! Hoping for no more diaper days soon! :)
I am so grateful for this video and the songs! My daughter if becoming more consistent and sings the potty song while she flushes and washes her hands!
The DVD and watch are great! It was the thing that finally encouraged my daughter to potty train. While watching the video the first time she ran into the bathroom and climbed up on the "big potty" all by herself to try!
It's been a big help. It kind of firmed up the whole process and helped with the conceptual stuff (why exactly are we doing this?). We're not doing formal potty training yet (it's just a bad time of year, we'll do it after the holidays) but she's going potty before nap and bed, and occasionally "listens to her body" and suggests going potty other times. She sings snippets of the songs and if we forget the soap while washing hands you had better believe we hear about it!
LOVE it!!! Our son wants it on every morning while we get ready. He has been using the potty off and on since 16 months, now he uses it more since the video came out!
My girls have really adapted to learning the signs, they’ve gotten the concept of what the steps of not only potty training are, but what your body does. Potty training twins definitely isn’t easy, but Potty Time’s really helped because it’s gotten my girls excited. And not only excited, but together, so that they can work together, and reinforce each other to go to the potty. The signs they learned are for the whole “step” process, there’s POTTY, WIPE, FLUSH, and WASH. And they’ve been doing that. It’s really been helpful because they know the steps of what you do when you go to the bathroom.
All though the watch doesn't work and the potty seat is not really designed well for a boy, the DVD's and the rest of the set is GREAT!! My daughter(2)uses the potty seat but if my son(3) uses it the splash guard it just not tall enough and it doesn't block any thing.
My autistic 7 yr old, 4 year old and 3 year old( who isn't fully trained) loved the DVD. The watch was a huge hit and his first day wearing it was a success. He didn't have any accidents at all. I was disappointed to find out that the watch wasn't waterproof because he washed his hands and splashed the watch. So now it is stuck on going off every 30 minutes for days after it dried out enough to turn back on. I'm happy to say the batteries are now dead two weeks later. But my kids watch the Signing Time DVDs when we check them out at the library. They are doing well with it.
Oh, what a fun, peppy way to learn to potty!!! Our son just LOVES it, as do we!!! Very well done!!
We own about 20 videos from the Signing Time collection, and now that my son is 2...Potty Time is one of my fav's. ;)
Got Potty Time on the release date in November and I am happy to say my almost 22 month old is now Potty Trained during the day!!! Once again... I love you Signing Time Products!
Love Potty time. My son got potty trained in two weeks. He is my 5th and last to potty trained. He is 3 and a half. 1st day, we learned the signs, watch video, got watch and new cool underware. Took diapers off and didn't see them anymore. I didn't do any kind of rewards the 1st week (stickers,etc..) because I thought the Potty watch was reward enough for him. I completely relied on the watch. Got an accident a day. 2nd week didn't want to follow the watch as much and that was when I got the Apps for my Android and the sticker chart. That motivated him even more. We called Rachel every time it was successful, played the memory game and put digital stickers. Calling Rachel for success was a big motivation and by the end of the 2nd week he graduated. I think he was really ready. He loves the feeling of the underwear. Love Potty Time.
My daughter was on the fence with potty training, she would say "maybe I still like diapers too much", she was nearly 3 1/2 years old. But as soon as we started watching the potty time video, singing the songs and using the downloaded picture instructions and incentive chart she was trained in a day. Seriously. No more wanting pull-ups, all underwear all the time! And even better now my 1 1/2 year old son says and signs the steps and sits on the potty himself. He's still just acting it out but its a pretty awesome. We also of course love all of the baby and "big kid" signing time products. Thank you Miss Rachel!
my daughter LOVES IT! she is constantly singing the songs and signing potty...she even will say "going potty" run into the bathroom and stand in front of our big toilet!!! soo cute....
I just had to share that my 23 mo old daughter potty trained simply by your dvd/cd. Because she does not speak yet (but has been signing since 9 mo) she was able to convey to me, her dad, and daycare when she needed to go. We have a happy, potty-trained daughter, and I owe it in a big part to not only potty time, but the Signing Time family. Thank you! :)
I am so glad you guys came out with Potty Time. We started training our daughter at 15 months. It's still a work in progress but the sign language has been wonderful for her! She loves to sign potty and wash hands!
My daughter almost 3, and is using the potty like a champ. She loves her watch and we all love the Potty Time DVD. We've been signing and signing for a while, and now she's listening to her body and using the potty! Awesome!
Watching Potty Time & my 2 1/2 year old turns to me during "Shining Star"..."Is Rachel talking to me?" I tell her yes and she asks "Why Rachel calling me a shining star?" Oh it was the sweetest thing ever! Thank you Rachel Coleman & all of the Signing Time family! ? We love & appreciate you all!
What I really love is just Signing Time, and I think Signing Time just really helped me since I grew up being Deaf, just helped really boost my confidence as a parent. It really helped me gauge where my daughter is at in terms of being ready for potty training. It’s definitely a team effort, like I needed to watch it with her and I needed to really work with her.
That watch is the best thing ever invented :)
Thank you so much for producing this video! Even though my (Aspergers syndrome) son has been potty-trained for over a year, we still have withholding issues and panic attacks about using the potty. All it takes is watching the video and ESPECIALLY pulling out the iPad app, and he's eager to go again. We use the iPad a lot to effectively communicate and motivate him. This has been a lifesaver! My 1 1/2 year old loves to watch too.
I was so excited to get this set for my 2 year old, but it hasn't been all that I hoped for... The watch sounded great, but my son pushes buttons, so it doesn't play the reminder song when it should. The potty seat doesn't sit as securely on the toilet as the others I have had. The splash guard is so shallow that it doesn't block anything. The DVD is adorable and we do love that. I wish I had bought only the DVD and skipped the rest of the set.
My daughter used the potty tonight YAY!!! E sings the potty song ALL day long in this house! Lol
My 2 1/2 year old twins watch Potty Time daily. Tonight while playing, my son started to sing "..uh-oh! It's an accident!", I look over to see he did in fact have one! The cute little song had me chuckling as we heading to the bathroom for a clean up.
