We got this as a gift for our kids for Christmas. My daughter (21 months) loves it! When she wants to watch it, she does the sign for baby, that goes with the first song. She is already learning the signs and is doing really well.
We started the Baby Signing Time DVDs when my daughter was 10months old. Now she is 14 months and can do almost all of the signs taught in the first two videos! It is so amazing to be able to communicate with my child at an age where she would not otherwise be able to "talk" to me!
We were expecting our first grand baby when a friend of mine shared with me about Signing Time. I purchased the baby signing time volumes thinking this would be a special time I could share with my granddaughter. Wow It has been amazing. She started signing when she was 9 months and now that she is 2 she knows all of the signs and songs and begs to watch baby every day. Everyone around her is amazed and she loves to show off her signing. She begin speaking at 1 yr and now holds a conversation with you along signing at the same time. We are expecting our 2nd grand baby and they have already asked for me to teach their child the same Do not hesitate to share these special moments.
I bought the first baby signing time series for my 10 month old son. He began signing within a month and loved them. I did not know that there would be more to come. I was delighted to find that a 3rd and 4th video was added to the series. These videos are just as fun and engaging as the originals. My son is now 20 months and picked up the new signs so quickly, amazing, truly amazing! Many thanks to Rachel and her family for creating such a special, captivating video series. Thank you for sharing this beautiful language with us!
As the sister of a hearing impaired sibling, you would think I would remember the signs enough to not need a refresher. Nope! I love these videos as much as my 17 month old does. We weren't able to find the baby signing time videos at the library, so we got the regular signing time videos instead. My daughter's vocabulary exploded and I was reminded of a lot of signs I'd forgotten. She has probably over 80 words now between speech and sign. She even is learning her own name sign along with her name. These videos are entertaining and really keep her (and my) attention. She of course still throws fits, but she has never gotten frustrated with trying to communicate with us. I just wish we had the money for the full set or that our library would get them. They are expensive if you are on a very tight budget, but worth the money!
I have been a nanny for more than 5 years. My first family was one child and he was 4 months when I started. I heard of sign language as a great development great for babies. So I got approval from the parents and borrowed some dvd's from the library. They were a hit at once. He was 12 months when I started. it took him a while to pick up on it. But he is now 3 years old and has an amazing vocabulary and loves his signs!! his parents thank signing time to this day!
I purchased this set about three months ago for my 2 year old son. He is a what we call a non-talker. We have had an interview with a speech therapist and when she asked about signing she was amazed at how many words he does know all thanks to Baby Signing Time. The videos are fun for him to watch, he loves to listen to the CDs, and the flash cards are amazing. He will sit on the floor and look through them on his own and do the signs as he sees them in the pictures. I am thankful that this is available, no more stomping and screeching in frustration for my son, we can "talk" to one another now.
I bought Signing Time! when my son was 1 month old. He is now 8 months and loves to watch everyday. He is so attentive when it is on and is beginning to move his hands like the kids in the video. I bought it because I had read how signing with even hearing children is beneficial for the whole family. I look forward to learning sign language with him. I can't wait to get the next set of DVDs. Signing Times is wonderful and so easy to understand!
I received this set as a Christmas gift for my then 21 month old girl and my 3 month old son. We fell in love with Signing Times through our local library but they did not have this set. This is absolutely the most used gift my children have ever received! We do not subscribe to local tv or satellite so the videos are a pleasure and I never get bored when the 2 year old wants to watch it again, again, and again. My youngest is now 11 months old and signs about 10 words and speaks about 15. Very advanced for his age and most people are absolutely amazed at my 2 year old's ability to speak so clearly and the enormous vocabulary she has. Can't wait to purchase Series One!!!
My family, especially my 19 month old LOVES Baby Signing time! She asks for it non stop! We even listen to the music in the car as she signs along. Thank you Rachel, for making such wonderful DVDs!
We went to California to visit my sister in-law. She had purchased the Baby Signing Time DVDs for my nephew and he seemed to love them. When we came home, I found that I couldn't get the songs out of my head so I purchased the DVDs for my daughter which was 12 months old at the time. Almost two months later, she has been watching the DVDs almost everyday. She loves her Baby Signing Time and is starting to communicate via signing. This is truly the best purchase I've made for my daughter.
We bought this set for our now 9 month old son, Ben, when he was 6 months old, and he LOVES them! We put him in his excersaucer to watch them, and he starts bouncing up and down and smiling when the two little hands production logo comes on, before the DVD even starts because he knows what's coming. I keep the CDs in the car, and because he's familiar with the songs, when he gets fussy, I just put the CDs on, and he calms down immediately. I'll have to write another review when he starts using the signs, but for now, I can say the music, colorful graphics, and other children have been a hit with him.
my son, now 13 months, has been watching baby signing time for 5 months now and while he isn't replicating many signs yet, he loves the videos! these are the only videos that he will sit still and watch! they really catch his attention and he loves seeing the other kids!
This set is amazing! ! We wish so badly that we could get more! Not only is our son fascinated with this set at 15 months old, he has been since 4 months! He started signing at 9 months and hasn't stopped. It is amazing what he knows. These DVDs are so fun with the wonderful songs and images. They entertain him even when he is feeling ill. We don't feel bad letting him watch them because we know he is learning too. This set has truly changed our lives. His favorite is Leah's Farm which comes with this set alone i believe. All we want to know is when are they making "Alex goes to the zoo"??
My kids all LOVE watching the Signing Time videos. The signs are well taught and easy to understand. The songs are fun to sing and sign to and the kids love listening to the CDs in the car. I have to admit that I even get into the action. I can't say that the kids have just one favorite song as they watch the entire video, which never happens with any other movie. Very good price for 2 videos and 2 CDs. Best present anyone could give or get.
I bought the baby signing time DVD gift set when my daughter was 10 months old - she is now 17 months and still asks for it every day! She loves it and we love that she can express her needs to us.
I purchased this set for my daughter when she was 6 months with the intention of starting at around the 8 month mark. I was disappointed that she didn't take to the videos, flashcards, etc....but did pick up on a few signs that I taught her. At around the 14 month mark, she developed SUCH an interest in all the products and it's now a part of her routine. The tunes are catchy and she's picked up on more signs than I ever would have expected. We are regularly out and about and she will sign individual words that she she has heard strangers say. I am THRILLED that I purchased the whole series!
My 15 month olds have loved these since they were about 6 months old. They look at then TV and sign "baby" when they want to watch and use other signs throughout the day. Love theses DVDs!
I received the Baby Signing Time videos as a gift when my daughter was about 10 months old. She was already talking quite a bit so I feared that she may stop talking as much once she learned to sign. Oh Boy was I wrong. She immediately picked up the signs and says everything as she signs it. She is now 20 months old and can sign every sign on Baby Signing Time Vol 1&2, and Signing Time Volumes 1-9 except Volume 5 (ABC signs), she still has difficulty with. I have been utterly amazed with these videos. I just can't believe how much she talks and signs at 20 months old. I have also noticed she picks up other things a lot quicker than most kids her age. She could sing her entire alphabet by the time she was 15 months old. I am so grateful she (and I) have the ability to sign. Thank You Signing Time!
This is a great product and very educational. I started playing the videos when my daughter was about 6months old and about a month later she signed her 1st word -milk- and her whole face lit up when she realized I understood what she wanted. She is now 18months and I'm having to upgrade to series 1 because she has learned the signs to the Baby Signing Time series. She walks around saying and signing "baby time" so we can play her videos. Definitely a great buy and great developmental tool!!
I asked for this as a gift for my daughter's one year birthday and we love it! I am a teacher of the deaf, so I'd been doing signs with her for months, but it wasn't until we introduced this DVD that she really took off with her signing. We've only had it for a week and she's already signing hat, baby, dog, fish, diaper, mom, and wash hands, in addition to the signs she had already known (more, finished, milk) before the DVD. She LOVES watching it and will sign 'baby' and point to the t.v. to ask to watch. We'll definitely ask for more of these DVDs for future birthdays and holidays!
My 2 year old has been watching Baby Signing Time for about 8 months. He has volumes 1-4 and knows a total of 45 signs. He enjoys the music and he is very excited when asked to sign. I too have learned many signs and the DVD's have encouraged me to take ASL classes.
I started signing with my baby when I started to feed him solid food around 5 1/2 months old. He finally started to sign about 8 months of age. After several months of signing with him I bought Baby Signing Time DVDs. He loves them and started to learn signs on his own without my help at about 1year. He just turned 17 months old and signs close to 200 words. It's amazing!
I love this gift set, I bought the set for my daughter who Is currently 6 month. She started watching it when she was around 3 months old. I take them to her daycare and all the students love to watch and learn the wonderful signs and songs. Also I am a special education teacher and I have taken them to my classroom and my serverly handicapped students whom may have little or no verbal language are now learning and signing these new words they are learning. Thank you and I am planning to buy the other 13 dvd for Christmas to cont. The sign in the classroom and at home. Thank you Kelene Blevins
My daughter is almost 3, and because of a neralogical disorder is unable to talk. With baby sign she is able to tell me what she needs and wants. All I can say is thank you. She was getting to be such a sad little girl, because she couldn't communicate with us. Now she can, and she loves it. She watches her videos all the time and loves them. She is learning about 8 signs a week,. Thank you again.
I bought the Baby Signing Time set for my child with down who is 2yrs old. He and I love to see them. He is taking a while to learn to make the sings him self, but he has mainly understanding them more and more has been his first sing and I am very proud of him. I believe it has been as helpful for me as it has been for him. I have recommended it to every one including my sons therapist that did not know about it to spread the word.
I bought the Baby Signing Time DVDs when my son was around 13 months and he loves them. He wants to watch them all day long. He falls asleep watching them and has to watch them when he gets up in the morning. I am very impressed with Baby Signing time, my son has learned almost all of the signs on baby signing time 1 & 2. It's amazing how children can remember all that. I am now looking for the next volumes. Thank you Liz and Aundreas Rutland,Vermont
I bought the Baby Signing Time DVDs when my daughter was about two months old. Now, at 10 months old, she signs about a dozen words. How great is it that at 10 months old she can tell me what is on her mind? Just incredible!!!!! I cannot stress the greatness of these DVDs enough.
I bought these DVD's about a year ago. My 3 yr old son still asks for them. He loves practicing his new signs when he goes outside. He likes to point and sign sky, clouds and snow. (its been snowing out lately) Another great Signing Time product!

I started teaching my son some basic signs as a baby and he picked up on it, so we bought the set. He loves it so much! He asks to watch it all the time and knows about 20 signs so far. He’s 1 1/2 years old and he hardly cries because he can tell us what he wants or feels.

My two years old daughter loves the dvd's and music collection and just cant get enough of it. She talks very well and clearly for her age and has no speech problem. I noticed that she loves when the signing time comes on TV on the nick jr. channel and borrowed a copy from the library last month. I was so amazed to see how much she enjoyed it, we watched it over and over until she can sing all the songs. This has become a daily activity in our home cos every time she goes "mommy, watch signing time" and cries if we refuse to play it. I plan to get all the series and practice the signs with her. I believe this will be a great opportunity for us to develop a second language that we can use to communicate other than talking. Thanks Rachel, Alex and Leah for giving us this opportunity to be more creative in our learning and communication skills!
My almost 3 year old daughter love this series! In one week she has memorized alot of signs. My 9 month old son loves it too! He is learning to sign 'eat', 'milk', and 'more' right now. Rachel has a great singing voice and is pleasent to listen to. My husband and I also enjoy watching and learning along with them. One thing I wish was different is that the all the Signing Time stuff could be purchased in a bundle like the Baby Signing Time. I cannot buy the entire collection all at once because it's way to expensive. But, I can afford to purchase two seperate collections at different times. But $900 at one time is out of our family's budget. The Baby Signing Time is a little pricey too. I think around $100-125 is more affordable for the average family. Thank you for brining us this signing series! Loving it!!
When my daughter was a newborn, we ran into the Signing Time Program on PBS and watched every week. When she got older we ordered the Baby Signing Time DVDs and CDs. She is 20 months old and uses all the signs from the DVD, plus others we pick up from the TV show, and when we are in the car she points to the radio and says "baby, baby" She wants to listen to and watch Baby Signing Time all the time. We recently ordered all the Signing Time DVDs, we'll see if she loves them as much.
I bought the Baby Signing Time DVDs when my daughter was 6 months old and she's 2 years old now. She always ask for it to watch when she wakes up and going to bed. She has memorize it from the begin to the end even without watching it.
I bought the Baby Signing Time DVDs when my son was around 10 months old. He absolutely loves them! He is 14 months now and we are seeing how helpful these videos are. He signs fan, dad, hat, shoe, sock, please, baby, phone, thank you, eat, night night, brush teeth, dog, milk, bath, and drink. I am noticing that these past two weeks he is just picking up signs left and right. It's so nice to have a toddler who does not whine a lot, because he can communicate more or less what it is he needs. The Baby Signing Time DVD is the only thing he actually watches and asks to watch. In the morning he wakes up, walks over to the entertainment center, and signs baby while he hums. It's so fun to watch him grow and communicate. When he was 10 months old he actually asked me to call his dad at work (he signed phone and dad). I called and he said 'hi' over the phone. It's a must for anyone who wants and easier life!
We started signing when my son was 2 yrs. old and was non-verbal. He's 3 yrs. old now and he loves Baby Signing Time. He's now able to say and sign all the words from theses DVDs. He doesn't have anymore temper tantrums as he's now able to say and sign for his needs. I wish I knew about this sooner when I had my oldest son, who's now 9 yrs. old and also has ASD. My oldest didn't speak until he was 5 yrs. old and I just wished I could have introduced him to signing time then. We are now starting Signing Time Series 1. You will really love these DVDs and they are so fun to sing along as well.
We started watching everyday when she was 6 months and she signed Dog at 8 months and just keeps on going from there! She loves these movies, you just have to say "Should we watch signing time?" and she looks over at the T.V. and waits for it to come on. We don't watch TV, just movies and this is a great one! I love the cd's too, they have saved me from going insane in the car too many times to count. I can just turn it on and she calms right down! I love that at 14 months she can communicate with me so much better than the other babies in the neighborhood-I am constantly "showing off" her new signs! Thanks signing time!

I bought these DVDs about 5 weeks ago. My daughter Leah is 20 months old now and we have been working with her through the early start program to teach her sign language. She has bilateral hearing loss and wears hearing aids. It felt like we had hit a wall where she was getting frustrated and I had exceeded the sign language vocabulary I knew to help her. Then enters baby signing time. WE LOVE THE DVD's. She hears her name which is nice, but we watch them on the way to take the kids to school and any other trip in the car, I loan them one DVD at a time to my daycare provider and my mother. It is amazing! She is signing just about every sign in the baby signing time collection and so are my other three children ages 5,7,9. My older three are requesting more DVDs!

But I must say I am impressed even with the changes at her daycare. She is in a home program, the daycare provider shows the videos before lunch while they are getting ready to eat. And, all the kids at the daycare are now signing the basic signs from baby signing time. It is amazing! And now, my daughter who I feel blessed will benefit the most, everyone around her is signing and she now has people her age to watch and communicate with. I am also increasing my vocabulary and can keep up with her.

I knew it had really paid off when her early start teacher came to work with her and she signed "Baby Signing Time" at 20 months old!!!

Thank you Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has had a hand in Baby Signing Time! My family has been blessed by your program!!

I have to say all the Baby Signing Time DVD's are outstanding. My daughter loves them all. These two are her favorite by far. She loves to point out flowers, bugs, stars and trees to us. The opposite game has given us many hours of fun. She has gotten so good at the signs she has even started signing the signs Rachael does in the background. There is only one sign I think that is missing and that is toy box. Thank you so much for all of your hard work on these, they really are the best tools I have found for teaching/learning sign.
I bought this gift set for my granddaughter last year for Christmas. She was 9 months old. My daughter had wanted to teach her sign language because she was pregnant again and the two babies would be 12 months apart! She knew that teaching the first one sign language would help tremendously when the new one came along and the older one was not old enough to communicate in sentences. My daughter had purchased a well-known series' DVD on sign language and they had been using that one for a couple of months. When I gave her Baby Signing Time, the difference was incredible! BST was by far my granddaughter's favorite DVD. The repetition and catchy songs taught her quickly and within weeks she was independently signing things like "more," "all done," "milk," and "eat." Daddy had thought that teaching babies to sign was......well, sort of "out there." But he became a believer when his daughter could easily communicate her needs to him once the new baby came along! Now he recommends it to everyone. She still signs a lot, even if she knows the word and just signs along with it. I'm waiting for the day she says "Grandma" but am content for now that she does the double-bump off her chin accompanied by "mam-maw." I highly recommend this set for helping toddlers transition through not being verbal and being verbal. They gain tremendous confidence when they can make their needs known without words. It absolutely cuts down on the frustration that leads to temper tantrums!
My 13 month old daughter immediately started learning sign language when we began playing the first 2 DVDs!!! She would learn a sign & then about 2 weeks later she said many of the words! I was an instant fan!! Now at 16 months she's onto the "Signing Time" - Volumes 2-4 and knows at least 58 signs in addition to many, many other words! I cannot sing your praises enough... I recommend your DVDs to EVERY parent with little ones who I meet!! I love that your method is based on ASL. Being overseas, I still want my little one to have a basis for ASL when we eventually move back to the US. Bless you all!
I had already started working with my infant son on learning sign language when I discovered Baby Signing Time. He's 16 months old now and he's learned so much from the DVDs. He also loves the music CD. We listen to it in the car sometimes and I can see him in his car seat signing along with the music. It has opened up our world so much to be able to have him share what he is thinking with us. I would highly recommend this set to any new Mom.
I purchased these DVDs for my son who was 3 years old last March. He was delayed developmentally and I had heard through internet searching, about Signing Time. Since then, He has mastered all of his signs and is using the verbal words for each sign, as well as singing the songs along with the CD's. 6 months ago he had a vocab of about 10 words and now he knows more than I could count. Recently he was diagnosed with Autism and I was greatful for the jump start we got by using Signing Time. Our two way communication is starting now, since I know all of the signs he knows. Thank you. SARA VANZEE-PORTLAND, OR
My son can hear but we started teaching him sign language when he was 4 months old so that he could communicate with us before he could speak. He signed his first sign when he was 9 months old and constructed his first sentence in sign language when he was 14 months old. By the time he was 19 months old he could sign every sign on the Signing Time DVDs (we bought the whole set immediately after trying out the first 3!). He absolutely LOVES Signing Time and it has been such a tremendous benefit- it taught him the alphabet, colors and to count to 10. I've been able to teach him phonics and he's started to read and he's only just turned 2 years old. We have such a special connection as we've been able to communicate with him so well from such an early age. THANK YOU, Signing Time!!!!!
Hi! My boys absoultely love watching "Signing Time". I bought Signing Time due to the fact that I am deaf and I wanted something to make signing more fun for the boys and my husband. Signing Time is perfect for anyone at any age! My husband is hearing and he says he adores Rachel's singing. Signing Time has helped my boys understand my need to communicate with them in every possible way. I give Signing Time a million stars! Thanks so much Joanna Gerhardt mom of Carter 4 years and Cary 20 months
I purchased this set for my daughter when she was 3 months; she loved looking at the colors and listening to the songs. I loved the auto-play and that they are 30 min long. I could take a shower and know how long I had before she would fuss. At just 6 months she was clearly signing “milk” & “dog”. Of course, it was just generalizations in that she was telling us she was hungry or wanted a toy … My husband and I were amazed. As we learned to understand her signs her communication skills took off. We also noticed that she would fuss every time “A Hard Day” came on; we were limiting the introduction of most foods as it seemed everything caused a rash, I was biding my time until I could get her allergy tested. A couple of weeks before she turned one she had a bad reaction to a cookie! The next morning before we left for the doctor; she signed ‘hurt’ for the first time. She was being very careful not to sign ‘more’ so I watched her touch her little pointer fingers together and actually twist them. I responded immediately with ‘where’ does it ‘hurt?’ and she signed what looked to me like, ‘frog hurt’. With all her little baby fat around her neck I didn’t realize that the rash had started up again we had her blood tested that day and found out that she was allergic to just about everything … wheat; egg white; dairy; soybeans; peanuts & our dog! Thank you so much for helping my daughter and I communicate so early. This product is great we asked for the Signing Time 1-3 gift set for her first birthday and I will review them separately. She is 20 months now knows over 100 signs I can’t keep up with her the nice thing is she will try to say most things as she signs them which helps a lot.
Hands down the best videos/DVDs and CDs, based on my daughters request to see/hear them daily. We introduced our daughter to baby signing time when she was 9 months old. She showed an immediate preference to these over the Baby Einstein video/dvd series. We have since added the 4-9 dvd's from signing times and now she asks for them by sign every night. This is a chance you don't want to miss with your babies (or children) it is beyond magical and fun, nothing more humbling then a 2 year old correcting dads incorrect signs.
my 2 year old loves the dvd's and the music. not only were they a hit with her but my 5 year old loves them too. we took them on vacation and showed other family all loved the fun way the signs are shown and the music. I say get them for all ages not just little ones.
Our son is in a bilingual environment (English/Chinese). We started to watch baby signing time when Martin was about 9 months old. Now he is 15 month old and can sign almost all the signs in baby signing time DVD set and he can sign whether we speak Chinese or English to him. I love this!!!! It is so nice seeing Martin expressing himself at such young age. I recommend this to EVERYONE!!!
