We received these flash cards, (as well as the books and DVDs for baby signing time) as a baby shower gift over a year ago. My daughter loves all the Baby Signing Time, (and regular signing time, thanks to Netflix) shows, but she loves love loves these flash cards. I never would have thought. She normally brings books to me or my husband to read (she is now 1 year old), but she will also bring these flash cards, and just sit on our lap and go over the cards. Recently she began signing (or saying) the ones she knows and still loves to bring them to us and have us go over them again and again. The only slightly negative is that, while they are durable, she has ripped cards off the loop, and definitely bend some. But none are completely destroyed. To me this is typical 1 year old wear and tear (especially since she has free reign to play/ review them at will, which she does on her own too). I was pleasantly surprised at how much she loves using these flash cards. We are now going to buy some of the normal ST flash cards as well!

All my kids have loved and benefited so much from Baby Signing Time. They *asked* for the flash cards at 1 and 2 years old. They thought it was such a fun game. For us it was an important tool to understand them before they could speak. Before turning one they had developed a big signing vocabulary but now my oldest still enjoys the challenge of remembering the American Sign Language he learned.

Got this product when my baby was 3 mo old. Started signing to him immediately. I thought he was interested but now at 9 mo he is starting to sign "water" & "more".

There are a lot of cards so I suggest narrowing down to the most used ones, approx 10-15 to start, like more, water, milk, mom, dad, eat...etc.

I also suggest not being too strict on the execution of the sign, babies are not as dexterous so whatever similar hand gesture that seems to work best for them is fine.

There are a few words I wish were included, like poop lol, i love you, good job (thumbs up), burp...but it is easy enough to look them up and add them in verbally with similar flash cards. Example: I add the poop sign to the diaper flash card.

The price is amazing for the number of cards you get and the cards are a good quality & thickness.

I really love these and am happy I purchased them.
