We received this as a gift for my son's 2nd birthday. He has never really watched much TV, but we put this on just to see how he would react, and to my surprise, he took right to it. Now he cries whenever it is over. He wants to watch it over and over. He loves the songs and the kids. The best part is he is already signing "more" appropriately and he has been watching less than a week! I already ordered volumes 2 & 3 and I plan on getting more for my son for Christmas. Highly recommend!

Volume 1 is still a favorite in my classroom even after the kids have seen it dozens of times. One student with Down Syndrome has been watching it for over 4 years and always picks this one when he gets to choose. My students love to sign and sing along with Rachel, Alex and Leah.

Great Video!

We are raising our son to speak English and Spanish. I was also interested in teaching some signs - although I don't imagine I could teach him ASL without a lot of reinforcement. I have taken a few ASL classes in the past and one of my friends is an interpreter - so I have some background... Anyway - we used Signing Time videos as a base (just the first two) and from there my son started picking up signs right away. He had more signs than spoken words at one point. He learned (mas, leche, pelota, gato, perro, pajaro, ya termine, avion, tren, carro, bebe, agua...y muchos mas). He seems to really enjoy it. It's so physical and I think it helps him to tie the concepts together. If we see a plane in the sky, I will day, "Puedes ver el avion?" and do the sign at the same time. The videos are really good and they also have a setting for Spanish voiceover and subtitles!

GREAT!

I noticed that people tend to have issues with the price. I think it is more than worth it. I bought this video for my 18 month old for Christmas and after a week of watching it, she was signing more than half of the signs in the video! This was not just during the video. She would hand me her sippy cup and sign "more milk". I'm amazed by this, because I have been trying sign language with her since before she was one and nothing has stuck with her until now. I much say that we are addicted! I'm ordering the second video next week and am also just as excited about not only her learning new words, but about my husband and I learning with her.
